After building up an appetite wandering around Lumphini Park one evening we stumbled across a series of food stalls set up outside the gates on the west side of the park (On Thanon Ratchadamri). There were a lot of stalls, some selling seafood, others selling food to be cooked in clay pots on your table, but we found a stall serving North-eastern Thai food or Esarn food. So we ordered up a selection to share – Larb Moo, Sticky Rice, and Som Tam. And a ice cold bottle of Chang Beer.
It was all delicious, though I think they didn’t quite believe us when we said we’d like it with lots of chillis, as it was a little sweeter than expected. Next time we’ll ask in Thai and see if we get something spicier.
Eating this food again makes me look forward to once again exploring the North-east of Thailand.
